Class Descriptions
Vinyasa Flow Yoga:
Vinyasa is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. The word Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” In other words, the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This technique is sometimes also called Vinyasa Flow, or just Flow because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance.
Power Yoga:
This class is a powerful, energetic class synchronizing breath with movement. It will build strength, flexibility, and concentration. Cleanse the body and calm the mind. Power Yoga classes do not follow a set sequence of postures. You can always expect a great cardiovascular and strength building workout combined with breath work (pranayama).
These classes are appropriate for active beginners through to advanced students. Modified versions of more challenging postures will always be given. Be sure to work at your own pace, and take breaks whenever you feel the need.
Warm Forrest Yoga:
Forrest Yoga is the invention of west-coast yoga teacher Ana Forrest. Forrest Yoga pays special attention to abdominal work and breathing. Vigorous sequences of poses are intended to build heat in order to sweat out toxins and release emotions stored in the body. Forrest Yoga will appeal to students who want a strong physical and emotional practice. Forrest yoga emphasizes healing and how to carry a transformative experience off the mat and into daily life. This class is done by keeping the room temperature 3 to 4 degrees higher than our other Yoga classes.
Mat Pilates:
This is a mixed level dynamic Pilates mat class that focuses on strength, precision, and flow of movement. The instructor will present the exercises at multiple levels which allows students to choose to work at a beginning, intermediate, or advanced pace. Students will learn to be aware of breathing patterns and spinal alignment while engaging the deep muscles of the core. Various props such as flex bands, foam rollers, Pilates rings, light weights, and balls are incorporated to enhance and intensify this Pilates workout.

Pilatesstick is a professional grade portable body sculpting system that allows you to do much of the work usually reserved for the tower. Our classes utilize this portable system, combining traditional Pilate’s movements with the flexibility the stick provides. It is an affordable alternative to machine classes.
